It’s a selfie.

I was born in 1975 and grew up on the coast of Northern California. I graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Environmental and Resource Sciences and a Studio Art minor in 1998, and have been working in the graphic arts discipline since 1999.

From 1999-2006, I worked as a graphic designer and then art director for R.H. Phillips Wine Company, eventually merging with Vincor USA and Constellation Brands. I directed and created artwork for a large portfolio of wine brands such as Toasted Head, Kim Crawford, Hogue Cellars, RH Phillips and Inniskillin.

From 2006-2021, I served as Creative Director for Nugget Markets, a multi-store family-owned grocery chain in Northern California. I built the Creative and Marketing department from a team of two to a team of nine. My team was responsible for managing our corporate identity, advertising, in-store signage, website content, packaging, labels, collateral, social media, video and audio production, photography, as well as marketing programs.

In the fall of 2021, I bid farewell to corporate life and made the decision to be self employed. I currently offer design, photo, video, and creative consulting services. I also make and sell wooden bowls and other functional art. My passion is guitar building, and I’m working towards my goal of offering guitars and ukuleles for musicians to purchase.

I have a band called the Bottom Dwellers, and we have released five original albums since 2003. I am a luthier (guitar-maker), and taught guitar design and construction classes at the UC Davis Craft Center for two years. I also make furniture and other wooden things. I enjoy designing, printing, and the handmade aspect of letterpress printing. I am currently working with the wet plate collodion process of making photographs.

Throughout the 25+ years of my professional visual communication work, I've focused on graphic design, print productionphotographyvideo & audio production, package design, website development, online marketing and managing creative people. I've had great opportunities and learning experiences which have shaped my career in the graphic design industry.
